No matter how you feel about these creepy crawlers, you will find yourself feeling a certain way about the creativity of theses whimsical poems. Fleischman has done a wonderful job bringing the bugs alive for his readers. Booksource recommends this title for grades four to seven. Step into the world of some of our most favorite insects, like Fireflies and Grasshoppers. “Chrysalis Diary” chronicles a caterpillars time before turning into a butterfly. You can share in the thoughts of a queen bee as she explains her daily activities in “Honeybees”. You will also come to identify with the not so loved insects… “The Digger Wasp” is the story of a wasp who knows her time is short, so she prepares food and protection for her unborn. Poems for Two Voices is a great read aloud or read a long. The poems are great for small reading groups to learn and recite for peers. What makes these poems truly wonderful is the fact that they are "for two voices". For the full the effect, they should be read aloud by two people, in chorus, or echoing one another. The already delightful poetry will come alive! Icon Post Your Review
